I’m a registered Republican, a conservative and a Biblically based Christian – and I will probably change my political affiliation to independent. Why? Because the GOP has lost its way, as evidenced by the serving up of two liberal loser presidential candidates for the last two elections. Sadly, there is little expectation that the GOP has even an inkling that they have drifted off course. We need to clean the house of the party who thinks they are doing right in their own eyes. If we fail to replace the malignant leadership of the GOP NOW, we will have no hope for the Party to succeed at any time in the future. That is, if we have a future left after Barack Obama has completed his task of socializing America.
Case and points: (all boldings are emphasis mine)
McCain, of course, had the backing of the New York Times in his class-warrior fight against the Bush tax cuts. In a Jan. 7, 2000, editorial, the Times said: “he won’t sign the Americans for Tax Reform pledge to “oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses.”
Romney did not support the Bush Tax Cuts and in 2002, Romney refused to sign a no new taxes pledge while running for governor. Source: http://www.theconservativepundit.net/?p=738
But a January 28 report by the Wall Street Journal’s John Fund raised concerns on the right. Fund wrote: “[McCain] has told conservatives he would be happy to appoint the likes of Chief Justice Roberts to the Supreme Court. But he indicated he might draw the line on a Samuel Alito because ‘he wore his conservatism on his sleeve.’”
In 1993, McCain voted to confirm ACLU liberal and pro-abortion Ruth Bader Ginsburg. But when Bush set out to restore constitutionalism, McCain colluded with Democrats who wanted to retain power to kill Bush’s most conservative nominees. Mark Levin wrote this about it for HUMAN EVENTS (See “Call Them the Sellout Seven”): “seven so-called ‘moderate’ Republicans sabotaged their 48 Senate colleagues, the Senate leadership and the President. For weeks, they had huddled in secret with seven Democrats looking for a deal to avoid the coming showdown. . . . John McCain of Arizona, their leader, has built his career on undermining his party.” Source: http://www.humanevents.com/2008/02/01/lets-closely-examine-mccains-record/
Romney appointed a pro-choice judge to a lifetime appointment on a MA court AFTER his “pro-life conversion”
Romney gave Planned Parenthood an instrumental role on the policy board in his Massachusetts healthcare plan after his “pro-life conversion”
Romney awarded a MA district court judgeship to Stephen Albany part of the MA Lesbian & Gay Bar Association & activist to repeal sodomy laws
According to the Boston Globe: Romney passed over GOP lawyers for three quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he faced as governor, instead, tapping registered Democrats or independents, including two gay lawyers who supported same sex rights Source: http://www.theconservativepundit.net/?p=738

(Romney on Gun Control: “Romney in 1994: on his support of the Brady Bill and an assault weapons ban: “That’s not going to make me the hero of the NRA”. Also at a campaign stop “I don’t line up with the NRA”, source: http://www.theconservativepundit.net/?p=738)
(McCain) Flip flopped on illegal immigration- on immigration, where he sponsored a bill with Ted Kennedy to allow millions of illegal immigrants become citizens. I’m not arguing that McCain is a liberal Trojan horse running in the wrong party.” Jacob Weisberg| Source: http://cliopolitical.blogspot.com/2008/02/mccain-as-modern-day-tr.html
“Romney in 2005 regarding McCain’s amnesty proposal for illegal immigrants: “That’s very different from amnesty, where you literally say, ‘OK, everybody here gets to stay…It’s saying you could work your way into becoming a legal resident of the country by working here without taking benefits and then applying and then paying a fine.” (Reference: “Mitt Romney’s Flip-Flops.” Log Cabin Republicans. McCain: Washingtonpost.com: McCain Softens Abortion Stand “I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade, which would then force X number of women in America to [undergo] illegal and dangerous operations.”
Romney: Romney was “PRO CHOICE” in 1994, 2002, 2005 and 2006. He was “PRO LIFE” in 2001, 2004, 2006 and now, of course, prolife for the purposes of being elected as our next Republican President. (and) On his 1994 campaign flyer, Romney lists “Retain a woman’s right to choose” as one of his foremost matters. The destruction of the family:
(The Closet McCain Psst … he’s not really a conservative. By Jacob Weisberg|Posted Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at 3:33 PM ET, http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/the_big_idea/2006/04/the_closet_mccain.html) McCain: When he ran for president in 2000, he won the endorsement of the Log Cabin Republicans. The Advocate calls him “notoriously pro-gay.” In 2004, McCain was one of only six Republican senators to vote against the Federal Marriage Amendment, and after a Massachusetts court affirmed gay unions, he took the position that states could decide their own marriage laws without federal help
Romney on gay marriage: Romney, seeking the endorsement of the Log Cabin Republicans, wrote in a letter to the group “as we seek to establish full equality for America’s gay and lesbian citizens, I will provide more effective leadership than my opponent.” Mitt Romney “fathered” gay marriage to America. http://newsblaze.com/story/20120511133505zzzz.nb/topstory.html
Even more bizarre, we have just experienced Republican Obamny running against Democrat Obamny http://www.theconservativepundit.net/?cat=4&paged=2 .
The free press should have been our hope of receiving accurate information on our candidates, however the media was complicit. Because the GOP and one of the leading sources of information, Fox News Channel, were both complicit and derelict in their duty to bring the true Romney record to the forefront, Republicans were not informed on facts that could have vetted Romney out of the nominee position, and cleared the way for a true Republican candidate who could actually win the Presidential Election. To be fair and balanced, CNN and MSNBC did the same for Obama.
We have all heard the term, the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expect different results. You now have two diagnosed examples in McCain and Romney which demonstrate the insanity of the GOP. Will true Republican citizens take the keys away from the insane? Or will we continue supporting the insanity?
