On April 20th, The Huffington Post posted a video “Mitt Romney Responds To Brian Schweitzer, Says Grandfather Wasn’t A ‘Polygamist’ (VIDEO)”. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/20/mitt-romney-brian-schweitzer-polygamist_n_1441836.html?ref=politics&icid=maing-grid10%7Chtmlws-main-bb%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk2%26pLid%3D153976
Well, he (Romney) told the truth about his father, however he neglected to reveal his family history of polygamy.
Here’s an excerpt in the book, “Can Mitt Serve Two Masters? The Mormon Church Versus The Office of the Presidency of the United States of America”, which reveals the facts about the polygamous roots in Mitt Romney’s family:
“Polygamy was prominent throughout Mitt Romney’s family tree. Mormon Church genealogical records, among the most detailed and complete of any religion, show that two of Mitt Romney’s great-grandfathers had five wives and at least one of his great-great grandfathers had 12.
In 1897, more than thirty years after federal law prohibited the practice and six years after Mormon leaders banned it, Romney’s great-grandfather, Miles Park Romney, married his fifth wife.
As previously mentioned, Romney’s great-great grandfather, Mormon apostle, Parley Pratt had at least 12 wives. In an 1852 sermon, Pratt’s brother, Orson, became the first church official to not only defend polygamy but to publicly proclaim it as a direct revelation from God.
Mitt Romney’s father, former Michigan Governor George Romney, was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, where Mormons fled to Mexico in the 1800s to escape religious persecution and U.S. laws forbidding polygamy. He did not return to the United States with his family until 1912, more than twenty years after the church issued “The Manifesto” which banned polygamy.
Upon realizing the important part polygamy played in the history of the Romney family, it causes one to wonder if Mitt supported gay marriage in his state with an ulterior motive in mind. If gay marriage is legalized, the next step could easily be the legalization of polygamy.”
Additional information on Mormon Polygamy for background, book excerpt:
“More Deception and Danger – Polygamy
Known today as “The Principle”, Polygamy has been a practice and a part of the teaching of the Mormon Church throughout its history. The doctrine of plural marriage in the LDS church dates back to 1843 when Joseph Smith, Jr., recorded what became foundations for polygamy believing that the practice was required to reach the highest level of the Mormon third heaven, the Celestial Kingdom in order to become “gods”. This teaching is written in The Doctrine and Covenants 132:
61 “And again, as pertaining to the law of the priesthood—if any man espouse a virgin, and desire to espouse another, and the first give her consent, and if he espouse the second, and they are virgins, and have vowed to no other man, then is he justified; he cannot commit adultery for they are given unto him; for he cannot commit adultery with that that belongeth unto him and to no one else.
62 And if he have ten virgins given unto him by this law, he cannot commit adultery, for they belong to him, and they are given unto him; therefore is he justified. “
While the Mormon Church denies that it supports such a teaching and points to the Fundamentalist Mormons as to being the ones to practice it – this teaching has not been removed from their doctrines.
Further investigation lends to the fact that Polygamy ceased to be practiced by non-fundamentalists only for a time (due to pressure from the government) but that it would ultimately return again to be performed as an open and accepted part of the religion.
In 1890 at an October Conference, Mormon President Wilford Woodruff presented a “Manifesto” to the Mormon Church which declared that the church no longer taught or practiced plural marriages. However, it remains in their Doctrines and Covenants today.”
Note: All of this information is completely verifiable in Mormon Doctrine.

Former Mormon Bishop’s Daughter and Political Commentator Reveals Real Story on Mitt Romney in New Book!
Tricia Erickson, (a conservative) was the first Damage Control/Crisis Management Specialist in the country, as stated by Barbara Walters on the show “20/20″. Tricia is also a political consultant and on-air contributor. She has opined on many local and national news and entertainment TV and radio shows/networks. She is also the author of the new book “Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters? The Mormon Church Versus The Office Of The Presidency of the United States of America.”
Tricia purposely became less active on-the-air in recent years and has not necessarily sought to participate in on-air interviews. However, because of the concern in her heart that for the first time in history, a prominent Mormon could achieve the Office Of The Presidency, she feels a responsibility to educate the public, both in the US and abroad, regarding what this potential Mormon President could truly mean for America. She is an expert on the well-masked cult of Mormonism and a former Mormon Bishop’s daughter who left the church in her mid 20’s.
From a political stand point, she believes it is imperative to reveal the facts on Romney’s political record, in opposition to what the Romney camp will shift the voters to believe in order to achieve the Presidency.
Side note: Some of the issues Tricia has been called to speak to in the past are the dangers of Radical Islam, Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, Mormonism, all things political, the imaging-posturing-positioning of Presidential Candidates, the culture wars and more.
